Dog Bath Project
Concept
The client approached us with a design idea for a mobile animal bathing unit. The key criteria for the product were that it had to be made from recycled plastic whilst also being strong enough to deal with animals and be light enough to transport by hand. Following consultation, Sparlonz recommended Recycled HDPE as the material of choice. HDPE (High-density polyethylene), is widely used for thermoforming when an application needs strength / rigidity / to be impervious to acids / alkalis / oils. Another key benefit is that Sparlonz extrudes both Virgin and Recycled HDPE on site so we can control costs and lead times far more effectively.

Design & Prototype
The initial idea was designed by CAD in-house working actively with the customer. A couple of design changes occurred to allow for both the thermoforming process and design which the team communicated and reacted to openly with the client. Once all parties were satisfied, a wooden prototype tool was made on site in Sparlonz’s toolroom.
The Final Product
The client was happy with the final results of the prototypes, which ultimately resulted in the project moving further as well as multiple new projects being collaborated between the 2 parties.
